Hello everyone! We decided to explore The Singapore ZOO so that we can share with you about our valuable experiences.

We reached there around 10am but were shocked to see long queues at the ticketing counter. Thus, we advise you to reach the ZOO as early as possible to avoid this scenerio. You can get your tickets for $18 (adults) and $9 (children) and you can spend a WHOLE fun-filled day at the ZOO!

For all you parents out there with little children, wagons(left), called TINY XPLORERS, and strollers(right) would be your best friend for the day! Instead of lugging your strollers from home and carrying your kids in your arms for the whole day, why not rent one of this and make your trip a hassle-free one?

Wheelchairs are also available upon request and the good thing is, this service is FREE.

After getting our tickets, we stopped by the Cheers located near the entrance to buy some snacks and drinks. Please make sure you have plenty of water with you as Singapore is a sunny island! A map of the ZOO, which can be obtained from the staff at the entrance, would come in handy.

Right after we entered the entrance gates, we were approached by a friendly staff to have our photos taken. A small ticket would be issued was issued to us so that we could buy the photos at the end of the day and keep them as evidence that we have visited the World's Best Rainforest Zoo!

We saw a board stating all the various animal show timings and the different animals you can ride on. This helped us in planning the route we were going to take so as to maximize the value of our tickets.

There are plenty of signs around the ZOO to make sure we won't lose our way

The
Treetops Trail allows us to get close to the animals and see them in action. We were very lucky to see monkeys swinging from tree to tree and the crocodiles swimming freely below. As it is a treetop walk, the animals are free to roam around. But fret not, as the animals will definitely not harm you.

A gentle reminder: No feeding of the animals! But you are free to take snapshots of them.

At different times of the year, the ZOO comes up with various themes to attract customers. We were in luck as the ZOO had an event with the theme revolving around "Asia". We managed to catch a man on stilts (Yes, a MAN!) and three elephants decked out in beautiful costumes.

We dined in
Ah Meng Restaurant before carrying on your journey to keep your tummy from rumbling. Must-try options are the tasty Hainanese chicken rice set, fluffy biryani rice set and tantalising barbeque chicken leg. The taste of the food was worth it even though we found it a little pricey.

For most of the animals, a brief description is provided to let us know more about them. For example, the different kind of species, the life cycle, what is so unique about it, etc. Thus, we feel that the ZOO is not only an eye-opener, but is also educational.

It is very convenient when making your way around the zoo. If you get tired of walking along the way, hop on the tram at any tram station. Take the boat and go for a ride around the zoo if you are more of a water lover. In addition, horse carriages are also available!

Halfway through our walk, we wanted to grab a bite. Mini roadside stalls selling snacks and drinks are situated at certain points around the zoo for our convenience.

After having a look at all the animals, we dropped by
Kidz World to have a look at the facilities specially catered for kids.

There are many things to do in Kidz World:

1.
Pony Ride

2.
Touching the pony!

3.
Eating at the eateries

4.
Water Park! (Don't forget to bring alomg your swimming gear! There are toilets [right] for you to change and bathe.)

5. Mini Flying Fox

6.
Not forgetting the Animals!

7.
Feeding of the Goats

8. Other Activities (Children's Ride & Carousel)

Don't forget to catch the interesting animal shows that we mentioned earlier!

After having a blast at the ZOO, we were all tired and thus decided to head home. But before that, we visited the Souvenir Shop to get something back for keepsake.

Overall, we feel that the ZOO is an ideal place for a family/friends outing as it promotes interaction and bonding, not forgetting the educational opportunity to learn more about the various animals. Therefore, the ZOO is a must visit attraction in Singapore!
